Home visits can be especially useful in the neonatal period (first month of life). If birth has been difficult, you have had a caesarean section, or your baby is very unsettled it can be easier to stay at home.
Home visits can also be helpful for older babies and toddlers and also for older children or teens who many have complex needs and it is easier to keep them in their home environment.
The consultation, examination and treatment is the same as what would be carried out in the clinic, just from the comfort of your own home.
For babies we can support with:
- Unsettled or distressed babies
- Latching/breastfeeding issues
- Torticollis (tightening of muscles on one side of the neck)
- Infantile Postural Asymmetry or a Positional/Head Turning Preference (baby mostly or always lying with head turned one way, or C shaped spine)
- Plagiocephaly (flattening of one side of the back of the head)
- Spinal asymmetry as a result of Developmental Dysplasia of the Hip (DDH)
- Delayed developmental milestones (rolling, sitting, crawling, walking)
Please contact Melissa if you have an older child with complex needs to see if osteopathy may support your child.
